Why We Built This Site
Public access to Alabama court files depends on court rules, statutes, and judicial orders. The practical challenge is choosing the office that actually holds the item. The Circuit Clerk of Shelby County keeps Circuit and District case actions and files. Shelby Probate Court keeps probate matters, while each municipal clerk retains its own city docket. Alacourt/Just One Look supplies detailed trial-court case information, the Shelby Docket List offers narrower public orientation, and AlaFile receives electronic filings. We bring those roles, official links, case-number clues, and request methods together without merging them into one misleading search path.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Shelby County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to the Circuit Court, District Court, Circuit Clerk of Shelby County, or any Alabama agency. Our role has firm limits:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot promise that a phone number, fee, case status, or setting has not changed
Only the clerk or court that holds the original file can issue an official or certified Shelby County court record. Any formal copy must come from that custodian.
Search Partners
Some pages contain search boxes operated by outside providers. Those providers control their services, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of the tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. We do not set the provider's charges, select its results, or turn those results into an official Alabama court record.
